Pedigree
Ruger is a powerful, clear-headed male intentionally utilized within our breeding program to help preserve and reinforce key Cane Corso qualities rooted in his pedigree. While not a representation of our final ideal in overall type, he plays an important role in maintaining substance, nerve, and functional structure within the program.
Physically, Ruger carries heavy bone and strong substance on a durable, athletic frame. His movement is efficient and controlled, favoring long-term function over exaggeration. He presents with a grounded, confident presence rather than a refined or show-oriented outline.
Mentally, Ruger is steady and discerning. He is calm and reliable in daily environments, socially neutral in public, and naturally territorial when appropriate. His protection is thoughtful and measured, driven by judgment and nerve rather than impulsiveness.
Ruger’s value is strengthened by the dogs behind him. His sire, Tonka Toy, was a solid producer known for contributing substance, stability, and working temperament. Much of Ruger’s influence, however, traces strongly to his dam, Stone Ridge’s Trophy Wife (“Skylar”). Skylar was a serious, no-nonsense female—selective with trust, loyal only to her people, and unwavering in her presence. She represents the type of hard, discerning temperament that aligns closely with the direction of our program.
Skylar’s pedigree reaches back into older lines, including influence from Ace Green, and her impact extends beyond Ruger alone. We are proud to have her behind him, as well as to continue utilizing her influence through other directions within our pedigree.
Where Ruger proves his true worth is in production. When paired correctly, he consistently throws improved head type, balance, and stability. He is used deliberately and selectively—not as an end goal, but as a tool to strengthen the next generation.
