Health Guarantee

At Americana Cane Corso, we stand behind the health and quality of the dogs we produce. Our puppies are covered by a 26-month genetic health guarantee against hereditary conditions.

What’s Covered

Our guarantee covers hereditary conditions including hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, and congenital cardiac issues. If a covered condition is confirmed within the guarantee period, we require documentation through OFA or PennHIP for hips and elbows, and veterinary/specialist documentation for cardiac concerns.

Keeping Your Puppy Intact

Because the Cane Corso is a large, powerful breed that takes time to fully mature, our guarantee requires the dog remain intact until full physical maturity, with a minimum of 24 months, unless a licensed veterinarian documents a medical reason. Natural hormones during growth play an important role in skeletal development, joint health, muscle development, and overall maturity. Early elective spay or neuter voids the health guarantee.

If a Covered Condition Occurs

We offer a full replacement puppy for a confirmed covered condition. You keep your original dog — we never ask for it back. We simply require proof the affected dog has been spayed or neutered before a replacement is provided. There are no cash refunds; our guarantee is based on replacement, not reimbursement.

Breeding Prospect Guarantee

Dogs sold as breeding prospects are placed with the expectation they’ll contribute positively to the breed’s future. We cannot guarantee championships, titles, or show success, but we stand behind the reproductive potential of dogs sold as breeding prospects. If a female purchased for breeding cannot conceive despite appropriate reproductive management — veterinary reproductive evaluations, semen analysis of the stud, properly timed TCI or surgical insemination when recommended, and documentation of infertility unrelated to management or the stud — we will replace her with a dog of comparable quality, supported by veterinary records. Companion puppies are not to be bred unless otherwise agreed to in writing.

Guarantee Terms

This guarantee applies only to the original owner and is not transferable if the dog is sold, rehomed, or transferred. We must be notified prior to euthanasia unless it’s an immediate emergency, so we have the opportunity to review records and fully understand the situation.

Our Commitment

Our goal is to protect our puppy families while encouraging responsible ownership and ethical breeding. Every decision — from health testing to breeding selections — is rooted in giving each dog the best opportunity to thrive.
